…Comes this memory of delight

comes this vision unto me

               of a long past paradise

in the land beyond the sea”

Civil Wedding
The civil ceremonies take place in a Town Hall. These are usually ancient historic palaces with lovely halls where the ceremony is  performed.      The   town hall of Positano can offer a terrace overlooking the sea, on Capri  it can be arranged in the garden, in Sorrento the ceremony is held in a lovely ancient cloister garden. The ceremony is performed by the mayor of the town in Italian, or an official appointed by him, while the interpreter translates everything for you. Afterwards you will be asked to sign a couple of documents together with your two witnesses. You will receive a wedding certificate which has legal validity throughout the world.
In most town halls a minimum of 2 days prior to the wedding is required to finalize the paperwork, but in some town halls this is not required as it can be done the same day as the wedding.  We will of course inform you about this straight away.

  Catholic Wedding
A Roman Catholic ceremony  takes a bit more planning and  paperwork.  The ceremony can be performed if either the bride or the groom belongs to the Roman Catholic Church.  The paperwork must be started well ahead of time from your home country with a meeting with your parish priest.  For civil validity you must sign legal papers at the town hall in Italy a few days prior to the wedding in the church.  An
english speaking priest will be appointed for the ceremony.

Protestant Wedding

A protestant wedding ceremony can take place in certain churches with an Anglican priest.  The paperwork must start from your home country well ahead of time with a meeting with your parish priest.  You will need to sign legal papers at the town hall in Italy a few days prior to the wedding in the church.

Symbolic Wedding /Blessing
A blessing  can be performed after the signing of the legal papers in the town hall.  A priest will perform a lovely service that can be held either at the town hall or on a private location.
A symbolic wedding is not legally binding.  It can be arranged in a beautiful and romantic spot where you can decide how you would like it to be organized.  We can arrange flowers, romantic background music and champagne.  You will have the possibility to say your own vows to each other.  Maybe a relative or friend would like to recite a poem or sing something special just for you.

Of course all the information about the documents that will be necessary  will be detailed to you and we will always be here to help you through any questions you may have.
